Acknowledgments

We give God the glory for His guidance and provision for our Adonai orphan project. We are so honored by our generous donor organization Agape Fish Fund for their concern, love, and donations to help meet the needs of daily nutrition and educational development for the vulnerable children in Myanmar. And we give thanks to all our private local donors and donors from abroad who are involved through prayer and donations to support the emotional and spiritual development of the Adonai orphans. Through their generous support, our orphans have been growing in health and in knowledge of the Bible. The orphans have access to education and realize their potential only through the cooperation of God’s people around the world. We heartily wish God's blessings to be bestowed upon them.

Educational Development

Before they came to Adonai, the orphans had no proper educational background since they had been neglected by their relatives, society, and community. Some of them were not even in school when we first brought them to our orphanage. We encouraged them in many ways. Mrs. Rev. Thang did a good job of tutoring them day and night. At first the children were shy in class because they were behind others. But now they have improved their skills a lot, and they no longer feel shy in class because they are capable and skillful. Their handwriting is well developed now. And by the grace of God, last academic year they passed their grades and have been promoted to higher grades.

Santa Cruz Beach Day

On Saturday, July 15, 2017 the O'Keefe volunteers took the students for a fun day to Santa Cruz. Everyone had a great time, especially at the beach! Summer activities like this help the tutors/mentors build relationships with the students, even when they're not studying.

Mid-Project Report: Taiwan Prison Ministry (July 2017)

The Taiwan Prison Ministry reaches out to Vietnamese people in Taiwan through church fellowships and activities in prison, such as worship services, discipleship, and Bible memorization contests.
July 4, 2017

Dear Agape Fish Fund,

First of all we would like to express our appreciation for your hearty support of our ministry through both finances and prayer.

We want to inform you how your support has helped the Taiwan Prison Ministry.
1) Compassion Fund: Supplemental Food and Prizes

Every so often the Taipei prison releases a number of inmates who have finished their jail term or who are on parole. However, new inmates continue to come and replace the released ones. Therefore, the number of inmates continues to be at least a hundred people.

Part of your donation goes toward our compassion fund for the inmates, which enables us to do the following:
  • Celebrate birthdays with birthday cake
  • Cook supplemental food once in a while
  • Provide prizes for Scripture memorization contest

The extra acts of kindness such as providing birthday cakes and supplement food has a great impact on the prison ministry. Lots of inmates write to express their appreciation for our love and care. As a result, their hearts are open and receptive. We often have new conversions and baptism for inmates who have finished our discipleship program.

The Bible verse memorization contest helps the active believers to develop self-control for life change and minimize disciplinary consequences. According to the prison’s policy, the inmates who have good behavior records can be eligible for parole sooner. This rule has been applied to a number of converted inmates who were released recently.

Share the love of Jesus in a nation where 1.7% is Christian
There is nothing quite like getting out of your comfort zone and seeing others who are in desperate need of the gospel message.

Fulfill the great commission
It is the command of God! Mark 16:15

Encourage full-time missionaries
Missionaries far from home need encouragement, resources, and extra hands.

Use your gifts and talents for kingdom purposes
Having God’s heart for the nations makes us better Christians, resulting in our service to Him to grow and expand wherever He plants us.

Meet children who are ready to love and be loved
The person who holds the orphan in loving arms all day is just as useful to God as the person standing before thousands proclaiming the good news.
