About Dollar-for-Dollar Matching ProgramTFish Fund will select promising non-profits to join our Dollar-for-Dollar Matching program each year. Chao Foundation will match donations to your organization dollar for dollar when donors make a donation online in the year 2013 (up to maximum matching limit). TFish Fund promises that 100% of your donation reaches its intended recipient. No Transaction or Overhead fees are ever deducted.

How to Apply

Application Process
We will ask you to draft a preliminary budget for how you will use the funds. When matching funds begin, we highly recommend partners to share updates about your work on East Villagers throughout the year so we can update donors of TFish Fund and provide information project transparency. At the end of the matching year, TFish Fund will request a program update and review of your experience in the matching funds program.
Application Criteria
We hold all matching program partners to similar transparency standards as Strategic Partners of the grassroots NGOs program. We select non-profits based on their effectiveness, program impact, and shared vision of cause and financial transparency. We require all applicants to be a US 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
Dollar-for-Dollar Matching
TFish Fund will match all online donations to you organization made on the TFish Fund website (up to maximum matching limit). For example, in the case $5000 is the max matching limit. If your donors visit the TFish Fund website and donate a total of $4000 in year 2013, then at the end of 2013, you will receive matching funds of $4000. You will receive two grant checks in the mail for $4000 online donations and $4000 in matching funds from the Chao Foundation. Donors are welcome to donate over $5000 and we will transfer the money to you. You will receive 100% of online donations designated to you and no transaction or overhead fees are ever deducted.
Program Benefits
Organizations will be able to maximize their donations at no costs or fees. Donations are convenient, online, and simple. Online donation transaction fees usually range from 2.9% to 15% and higher on other web services; however, we are fortunate to have private sponsors who cover any overhead and transactional fees involved in the donations process to help your dollar completely reach the intended beneficiaries. Donors receive tax receipts and email confirmations immediately upon submitting their donations and tax receipt letters are sent by mail by the end of each year as well. Donors can also "Track" their donations online at anytime.

They can donate by Paypal or any type of card securely. We will not share any of their personal information to any third parties. Click here to print flyers or email us for paper flyers to advertise to your supporters about the matching funds program. We will personalize the flyers with your name.

To encourage a spirit of philanthropy, we only match funds for individuals and not companies or other organization’s grants to you. Each individual’s donation maximum matching fund is $500. Individuals are welcome to donate more than $500, and we will transfer any amount above $500 to you without matching. We only accept online donations executed and authorized by the donor. In the case of events, please have the donor make the donation on their own.
Funds Disbursement
TFish Fund usually disburses the total donation to organizations at the end of the year around December 31. If you need to use the funds during the year, you may request to withdraw your funds earlier such as mid-year or quarterly by sending a notice to us. We are flexible to work with your schedule and need.
Program Duration
The Dollar-for-Dollar Matching program lasts for one year. Most organizations will begin in January and receive their matching funds by December 31. If organizations start during the year, we will calculate the length of the program based on the start date and the end date will be a year from that time.

The TFish Team creates the Donor Book reports by the end of the year by collecting updates, photos, and information regarding your organization through your blog updates to provide the annual Donor Book by Christmas of every year to donors.
How do I get a page on the TFish Fund site for donations? Do I provide someone with my organization's information?
We will request information about your organization for the TFish Fund site when you start the matching funds program. You will work directly with a TFish staff to provide information about your organization and programs for donation.
How difficult is it to fill out quarterly accounting reports and do we need an accountant to perform this task?
The quarterly accounting report is designed for any internal staff to complete. The instructions are self-explanatory and you will not need an accountant to fill out the reports. If you have any questions, we can resolve them for you via email. If we have any questions about the numbers, we will contact you to make the reports as accurate and complete as possible.
Can I reapply next year to rejoin the matching funds program?
Yes, you may reapply, and we will evaluate continued participation based on our past partnership with you.
One of our donors accidentally donated to the wrong cause online. Who can help me fix this?
Just send an email or note our way and we usually get these types of problems fixed immediately.
