Changed Lives in Prison On January 5, 2016 we visited the prison in Taipei. The weather was not too cold, and after some heavy rain we had a chance to visit some prisoners with Pastor Thu. These prisoners had heard the gospel from Pastor Thu and had accepted God as their Savior. We had 20 minutes to visit these people. We started to greet each other like two strangers, but we felt like we had known each other as family. We talked and shared our stories sincerely. These prisoners were grateful for us to come and visit them from a faraway country. They recognized that they were sinners and did unthinkable things because they couldn’t control themselves. They felt the love of God and that had helped them to overcome all the hardness. They thank God because they have a chance to learn the Word of God and asked God to guide them when they go home and unite with their families. They promised to become better people. They don’t want to be arrogant or angry anymore. We encouraged them and promised to pray for them so God can help them have the strength to live better in the new year. We asked them if they want to send a message to their family. They answered us in tears that they want their family to endure and wait for them to come home so they can compensate them for their wrongdoings. We said goodbye, in the hope of the Lord that He will always take care of them. We also sent them food packages (bbq duck, coffee, pastries) so they can eat and fellowship with each other. These are small gifts but it speaks of the love and attention from the generous hearts of TFish Fund to send them to the prisoners. We are very appreciative. New Believers in the Detention Center
On January 6th we visited the Taiwan Detention Center and met 28 Vietnamese there. We shared the gospel and watched a movie about the creation of the world and the life of Jesus Christ. Pastor Bao shared his personal testimony and encouraged everyone to seek God first and foremost. Thank God 26 people accepted God as their Savior. We could see the joy and the peace that appeared on their faces. We sent them some love gifts from TFish Fund. After the pastor did a prayer of blessing, we parted with joy. This meaningful work has been done every week and we learned that the harvest time is ready and we still need a lot of helpers here in Taiwan. We thank TFish Fund for the support and prayers. Continuing the Testimony in Vietnam We left Taiwan and went to Hanoi, Vietnam. Here we were able to meet Quang Trung, whom we had first met previously in a prison in Taiwan. He now has a good job and his life was changed after he accepted God as his Savior. He knows how to trust God and is grateful that God died for him and saved him. God used His servant Pastor Thu to take care of these prisoners like him in Taiwan. We also had dinner with Nam Trung, who was set free from prison in Taiwan and is now back in Vietnam, and also with Van, who is the wife of a prisoner named Tuan that we met on this trip. We really thank God that He always takes care of His children.
