Nancy Nguyen, Founder & President of Agape Fish Fund, shares the true story of her uncle. This personal experience led to her family developing a heart for homeless ministry. Agape Fish Fund partners with local churches and volunteers to provide meals, supplies, and Christian support for the homeless in San Jose, California. VIETNAM REFUGEESIn 1990, my family members were refugees after the Vietnam War and were part of the U.S. Orderly Departure Program (ODP). Gratefully, my father’s older brother, who was already living in the U.S., helped us with all the paperwork and signed to take responsibility for our immigration and transition to the United States. He was a handsome, well-to-do engineer. If it weren’t for my uncle, my family wouldn’t have been able to come to America.
This uncle was in the process of doing the extensive paperwork for our family and had to travel to Vietnam. Sadly, before the paperwork was finalized, his wife who was in the States took his multiple businesses and house assets and then divorced him. As if that wasn’t enough, my uncle later had the same experience happen in succession with two more wives. It was easy for him to find beautiful women to marry due to his good looks. But then they ended up taking everything of his and divorcing him. This tragic pattern deeply affected my uncle mentally and he went missing for many years.

Adonai Child Rehabilitation is a Christian faith-based ministry in Kalaymyo, Burma that was established in May 2016. This ministry creates a place of rehabilitation for children and teenagers from various backgrounds like orphans, unwanted children, street children, and poor children. We express our heartfelt gratitude to Agape Fish Fund for their heart of love for the orphans and generous support for the orphans’ nutrition and their prayer support for the overall development of the orphans. Making Volcanoes on Science DayStudents didn’t have school on Monday, October 9th for Columbus/Indigenous People’s Day, so we gave them a fun science day instead. Dr. Mike taught the students a science lesson in the backyard, and they had a blast working on volcanoes with baking soda and vinegar!
Soklang was abandoned by his parents when he was 4. Thanks to your donations, we're able to support a 6-year-old boy in Cambodia named Soklang. He's an only child, and his parents got divorced in 2015. His father married another lady, and his mother took him to his grandmother's. Later on, Soklang's father died in a car accident, and his mother disappeared one day without warning, leaving him and his grandmother in a difficult situation. Soklang has been in the Kampong Cham children's home since 2016, where he is able to learn about Jesus and have loving house parents.
249 out of 350 supporters have donated $100. If 350 people each give $100 this year, we can help meet physical and spiritual needs for 500 children and families in 7 different countries. View the original e-newsletter.

Four Children SponsoredThis year we sponsored 4 Cambodian children: Soklang (boy, 6); Sopheak (boy, 14); Sinet (girl, 11); Sopheary (boy, 11). Our sponsorship provides a safe Christian home for the children where they can learn about Jesus, have nourishing food, receive a good education, and have loving house parents. Meet SoklangThis year we sponsored a Cambodian orphan named Soklang Vun. This 6-year-old boy lives in the Kampong Cham children's home. Soklang is an only child, and his parents got divorced in 2015. His father remarried another lady, and he later died in a car accident. Soklang's mother took him to live with his grandmother, and then one day she left without warning. Soklang's mother never visited or gave money for Soklang and his grandmother to even have food. Soklang and his grandmother lived in a difficult situation. The local Committee of Women and Children realized the situation Soklang was in and helped him transition to the children's home in January 2016.

September 25, 2017 Dear Sister Diep, Actually, I do not know what to say now, except to thank you sincerely for all that you have given us. You have provided emotional support and encouragement, which are the main motivations for me and my brothers to find ourselves and the path that has been leading us to God. Thank God for giving us a very serious sister who cares for us. You know, once upon a time I was very depressed, wanting to give up everything. But you have been a bridge to bring me to a new life. You brought me to God, who loves us so much. I remember your heart and all that you have done for me. Now my thoughts have changed a lot. I have also found joy and smiles in the present life. All of this is the grace that God gives. Once again, I thank you sincerely. In closing, I wish you for you to always have good health, to always have a smile on your lips, and to find a lot of fun in life. Try to stay healthy. God will always be with you, bless you, and keep you. The younger brother who had lost his way, Huy Binh |
