Mid-Project Report: Cambodia Orphans (Mar 2019)

Agape Fish Fund partners with Southeast Asian Prayer Center (SEAPC) to provide orphans and children in Cambodia with a Christian home and education.

This year we gave an extra special gift to the Cambodia orphans we sponsor—bicycles! It was a wish come true for them.

Kampong Cham children's home

In February, the children at Kampong Cham were blessed with a high quality plastic playground. A school in Phnom Penh had never installed it and decided to use something different, so they blessed it to the home. You can see the photos of it being put together. We are praying for this type of playground for every home.

This children's home is at a temporary location while they wait for the permanent location to be built. The temporary location experiences flooding during the rainy season, and they have just had the land backfilled and the fence repaired to prevent flooding. Construction will begin soon on the permanent home.

Updates from the field

In March 2019, Tina Tomes from SEAPC visited the children's homes in Cambodia. She shared some exciting updates with us:

• She trained the field workers on how to use the online system to provide direct updates on the children.
• God has provided contractors to work on the needed house repairs at the children's homes. An experienced missionary contractor from Arizona named Hubert is training local young men named Raya and Sophal to develop more skills in building and repairing houses.
• The house parents and some care staff have received training in mental health and counseling from professionals from the United States.
• We are thankful that all of the children at these two homes are currently sponsored and in overall good health.
  

Prayer Requests

Please pray as we:

• work on the written policies and procedures
• develop the plan for priority in home repairs
• develop clearer communication
• assess school supply needs for the 2019-2020 school year
• push the process more for getting the children who have medical needs seen by doctors
• look at the various ways to help develop spiritual growth
