Mid-Project Report: Cambodia Orphans (Oct 2018)

Agape Fish Fund partners with Southeast Asian Prayer Center (SEAPC) to provide orphans and children in Cambodia with a Christian home and education. 

Update on Kov Siblings

I pray that you are doing well. I’m not sure if you realize it or not, but the 3 siblings sponsored by Agape Fish, Sopheak, Sinet and Sopheary Kov, are all a bit mentally challenged, in varying degrees. I did not learn that until I went to Cambodia. It was not on their original data, which is possibly because they were not aware of it yet at the homes.

I have just received the scores that all three received at the end of finishing first grade. Sinet (the sister) passed—barely, and both boys unfortunately failed and will repeat the grade. Sopheak (the oldest boy) is the one with the most disability as far as learning is concerned, but he is very good with his hands and doing hands-on things. He enjoys it very much also. We are thinking of gearing him toward a future in this path.

I received a cool message from their house father, Sitha, today. He said that Sopheak has learned how to write his name in English. He sent me a photo and short video to show it. I thought you would like to see.

All three kids are very loving, helpful, and kind. Please keep them all in your prayers that learning will become easier for them and for their house parents and everyone around them as we pray about the best future for each of them.
