Agape Fish Fund partners with O'Keefe to provide tutoring and Christian mentorship to low-income students in East Palo Alto, California. Field Trip to Monterey Bay AquariumOn Saturday, December 8, 2018, we took 8 of our students and 6 tutors to Monterey Bay Aquarium. Everyone had a fun time! Holiday PartiesThe mother of one of our students mentioned that she wanted to have a Thanksgiving dinner during tutoring. So in lieu of our usual tutoring session one Monday in November, we had a Thanksgiving dinner together! We are also hosting a potluck dinner Christmas party for the kids, their families, and the tutors on December 15th. This is our last day of tutoring for the year. We will have some regular tutoring, and then at the end some gift giving for the kids! Leader TestimonialDecember 15, 2018 also marks Dean Young's last day of hosting and tutoring for the program. Logistically, this means that all of the tutors and students who participate in the Monday sessions will be combined into one room for now.
Dean shared: After 2.5 years of fruitful ministry, I have witnessed a lot of good come out this program. I learned a lot about myself in this time and was able to find a way to give back to youth boys in a similar way that I was mentored when I was a youth boy. However, with many life changes coming and a general sense that it is time for me to move on from this ministry, I have decided to step down. Thank you everyone for being a part of this experience for me.
