In partnership with SOMEDCO and local pastors, we are building water wells for clean water and ministry among tribal groups in rural Vietnam.

Project Background

Beneficiaries: Ngọc Lăc Community
Population:  200 people
Four Tribal Groups: Kinh, Mường , Giao, Thánh

There are more than 200 members of the Ngọc Lăc Church, but the regular attendees are usually only 35-45 people in the main church and 15-25 people in the two groups of Lang Chanh and Quang Trung. Some of these faithful attendees live as far away as 55 km (34 miles) from the church.

The church members are of four ethnic groups: Kinh, Mường , Giao, and Thánh, and there are over 70 children from among these ethnic groups in the church as well. Worship services are held in the universal Chinese language.

3 Wells Completed So Far

The wells are being built to help the church's people. This includes wells for the church building itself and also for homes to serve families with water difficulties.

A well can get contaminated in a variety of ways. You and your family will be at danger for water-borne diseases as a result. Once a well has been poisoned, it is quite challenging to clean it up. Maintaining your well in a way that prevents these contaminants from coming into touch with your water is crucial.
