Project Story 1: Tina

Sunday worship is one of the 2 regular meetings we host for migrant workers. Tina, one of those workers, attended Sunday worship out of brokenness. Previously, she ran away from her employer with only the clothes she was wearing. Through the shelter's service, she found a job and transferred to a new employment.

Unfortunately, the job didn't work out so well and she subsequently came back the shelter. Tina attended our Sunday worship and shared meals together and poured out about her hardships with us. She found a job again and had to travel a long distance to get to the workplace.

Knowing that she was short on finances, we offered a one-way train ticket and some personal items. Her heart was touched, and she was moved to tears as we took her to the train station. We've kept in touch with her to nurture her heart and her Christian faith. She has not stopped being grateful what we've done for her.

Project Story 2: Kim

Kim was a regular attendee of our weekly outdoor activities and Sunday services. Learning that we really cared about her, she became joyful and thankful. It was sad for us to see her leave for a new job in the north (we're in the south) of Taiwan, but we were happy that she had work.

Unfortunately, after moving out to work as a caregiver for a few days, she faced harassment from the man she cared for. As a result, she moved back to the shelter. We continue to care for her. Although she's a person who finds it difficult to ask for financial assistance, she was willing to ask us for help because she sees us as family. For example, a few days ago, she did not hesitate to tell us about her need for a phone card to contact her loved ones in the Philippines.

Editor's Note: The names of the workers have been changed to protect their identities.
