Adonai Child Rehabilitation is a Christian faith-based ministry in Kalaymyo, Burma that was established in May 2016. This ministry creates a place of rehabilitation for children and teenagers from various backgrounds like orphans, unwanted children, street children, and poor children.

glory to god

First of all, I give glory to the Lord for His guidance and blessings upon the Adonai orphans. I also give special thanks to sister Nancy and her organization Agape Fish Fund and  to all the staff and donors for their generous support, prayer, and concern. May the Lord richly bless them in their daily life.

school teacher gives pens to our orphans

All our orphans go to school at No. 4 Ah Lah Kah in Kalaymyo, where all of the teachers are Buddhist. Most of our orphans are in first grade. One of the school teachers, Miss. Khin San, is very kind to our orphans, since 5 of our orphans are in her class. One day, Miss. Khin San bought pens for our orphans. We are so grateful for her. She said, "I want to be a small help to the orphans." We are so glad that even a Buddhist teacher is used by the almighty God. We thanked her and asked God to bless her.

two volunteer teachers for summer class

Final exams are over, and school is closed for the summer. But we have a great plan to teach them English grammar and the Chin vernacular language. Two young girls who are college graduates will be teaching them, Miss. Hoi Tha Dim and Miss. Hno Chin Par. Miss. Hno will be teaching English grammar and math, and Miss. Hoi will be teaching the Chin vernacular language. Our purpose is to familiarize the children with the subjects they are going to learn at school since some of them came from a very poor educational background. This summer program is for two months, April and May. The government school will reopen in the last week of May. We are so glad about these two young girls who are giving free summer classes for our orphans.

vacation visit to park

As soon as final exams were over, we wanted our orphans to be refreshed from the pressure of their studies, so we took them to Taungphila Golf Park, which is 5 km away. We cooked rice with beef and packed it for lunch to enjoy there. We also brought some special drinks, which is Coca Cola. It was the first time the orphans drank Coca Cola. Some thought it tasted good, but others couldn't drink it. In the park we had a short prayer, soccer, games, fun, and photos. They wore new clothes and were so excited. And they asked to have this kind of outing and excursion in the near future.

A neighbor of ours, an older woman named Mrs.Cer Te, brought a bundle of leafy greens, which she grew on her farm. Traditionally we call the leaves "Omphui Hnah," which means "Omphui leaves." They are expensive and good to cook and drink like soup.

Even though it is a small gift, we appreciate her love and generosity upon the orphans. She said, "If you would like more, I will give it again." We are so thankful for her and pray blessings for her family.

spiritual growth

As we have morning and evening devotions, my wife and I are always teaching the children the love of God. My wife teaches action songs, Bible stories, and leads them in prayer. I also teach them about salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. We thank God that all eleven orphans have responded to Christ's love and accepted the salvation of God. My wife and I challenge them and ask them what kind of people they want to become when they are grown up. Some said school teachers, some said missionaries, some said pastors, some said medical doctors. We always encourage them that their dream will be fulfilled one day if they really trust the Lord and follow His words.

Orphans accept us as parents

One of the most joyful things for us is that they call us mother and father. At first they feel hesitant to call us mother and father. But slowly they warm up with us. They feel parental love and care from us and they are very glad to call us Papa and Nunu, which means father and mother in a sweet manner. Papa means father, and Nunu means mother. That  happened because of God's help. Now they no longer miss anyone; they no longer feel any sadness and depression because they received parental care and love from us.

Miss. Thian and Miss. Tha told us that they no longer wish to return to their native home. They said, "We want to be with you until we are grown up and get married." They said, "Papa and Nunu are our real father and mother, so we will not go any place away from you." Their words are challenging me. I am thinking deeply. I understand that God wants me to be a father of many orphans.

Thanks to Private Donors

Our heartfelt thanks go to our regular private donors. One of them is Mrs. Adar from Melbourne, and another one is Mr. Simeon from Midland, Texas. Both of them are our friends from Myanmar. They settled in their current respective countries as refugees. They themselves were in a very poor and oppressed condition a long time ago, and they understand how difficult the orphans' lives are. Mrs. Adar supported us with the equivalent of $75 for March and Mr. Simeon supported us $50 per month. Every day the Adonai orphans are praying and asking God to bless our donors.
