How we "teach them to fish"

While Labor Day marks a farewell to summer, it's also a day to honor the contributions of workers.
And for many rural families around the world, labor work is their livelihood.

Teach a Man To Fish

Our philosophy of poverty alleviation ministry combines the practical wisdom of this Chinese proverb with the spiritual wisdom of Jesus.

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

And Jesus said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you become fishers of men.”

Thus, we partner with ministries that serve rural families in both ways:

Providing wholesome, sustainable ways to generate more income
Providing evangelism and discipleship opportunities

Taiwan Laborers

We help provide basic necessities and ministry activities for exploited migrant workers in Taiwan. As these laborers strive to earn a living, our support helps them with meals, clothes, and transportation. They also get to participate in weekly worship services.

We're helping to establish a livestock breeding center in Vietnam. Research has shown that goat production is a popular way to improve the income of the rural poor. The livestock breeding center will also provide a platform for church planting among tribal groups.

We support low-income women in China who make and sell handicrafts to help provide for their families. These women are trained to create beautiful items, and they also have opportunities to learn about Christ.
