Rainy Season and DengueIt’s the rainy season, and the likelihood of dengue is higher. Dengue is very dangerous for kids in our country. We treat our orphans and vulnerable kids very well at ACR.
Unfortunately, a terrible dengue struck the ACR kids in September, and we struggled. Our orphaned girl Chin Chin suffered from dengue for over a week. Please pray for us to have partners to create a healthier environment for the suffering kids. How we "teach them to fish" While Labor Day marks a farewell to summer, it's also a day to honor the contributions of workers.
And for many rural families around the world, labor work is their livelihood. Agape Fish Fund partners with Southeast Asian Prayer Center (SEAPC) to provide orphans and children in Cambodia with a Christian home and education. SEAPC helped organize a Kids Camp, and these excerpts are republished from their article. This year there were approximately 500 children from 15 homes attending the Kids Camp. With all of the staff, staff families, and volunteers—both national and international—there were about 800 people attending.
There were seven teams and various individuals, representing at least six different countries, traveling to Cambodia to help. There were so many people that not everyone could fit at the same hotel. The kids and home staff stayed at one location and everyone else slept at other hotels or guest houses and traveled to where the kids were every day. FloodingThis month was very eventful. Due to constant heavy rains, the water level rose to the point of flooding the orphans' dormitory. The flooding was so severe that we decided to temporarily move all the orphans to another safe place. Meanwhile, we did our best to prevent the water from damaging the household items. We thank the Lord for helping us during this situation.

Summer CelebrationsThe students are on summer break, but that doesn't keep us from wanting to spend time with them! On August 1st, we hosted a backyard barbecue with the tutors, the students, and their parents. It was also a great time to celebrate some special occasions for a few of our key volunteers—an upcoming wedding and a birthday!

Lian Lian's HealthAt the end of June, one of the orphan boys Lian Lian was hospitalized due to severe asthma and tuberculosis. We prayed for him to recover and receive the necessary medication.
This creative fundraising event connects young musicians for a worthy cause. The Kam sisters started Young Musicians Workshop in 2013 and have hosted it for 5 years now, raising a total of $8800 for poverty alleviation in East Asia. Elisabeth (Beth) Kam and her sisters have been playing violin, viola, and piano from a young age and especially love playing in quartets. “We wanted to use our gifts and abilities to help others,” Beth shared. As a founding staff member, Beth eagerly anticipates Young Musicians Workshop every summer and has played various roles in the camp over the years, including craft director, game director, and music teacher. This year she took the helm as Director of the entire camp.
“This year’s camp was a huge success!” said Beth. “We had 17 kids attend, our largest camp ever.” July 4th Greetings and Rescued Trafficked Children Rescued Trafficked Children in ThailandIn partnership with ZOE International, we provide holistic Christian care and restoration for rescued trafficked children in Thailand.
